About us

About us

A volunteer-driven community theatre organization dedicated to bringing theatrical performance and education opportunities to Fond du Lac and beyond.

Community Theatre Since 1958

Fond du Lac Community Theatre is run by a volunteer board of directors and supported by a strong membership, all dedicated to furthering the arts in our community.

Since 1958, Fond du Lac Community Theatre has offered a variety of plays and musicals. Over the years, the organization has grown to include youth theatre opportunities, giving children and teens in our area a chance to showcase their skills in age-appropriate theatrical performances.

Fond du Lac Community Theatre is also proud to partner with local organizations to offer workshops, speakers, and hands-on training in many areas of theatre. Through these collaborations, we help educate and guide individuals in acting, directing, improv, set design, and many other theatrical skills.

We seek to be an asset and partner to Fond du Lac and beyond. Together, we can accomplish great things.

Our History

Fond du Lac Community Theatre was founded in 1958 by community members with vision, dedication, and tenacity. What began as a small group with limited resources became a lasting part of the Fond du Lac arts community.

In the early years, storage was a challenge. Members graciously kept props, costumes, and other items in their own homes, lending them back to the theatre whenever needed.

During the 1960s, rehearsals and performances took place at Roosevelt Junior High, the YMCA, Chegwin School, and Parkside School. Today, Fond du Lac Community Theatre continues to use spaces within the Fond du Lac School District, primarily presenting shows at Goodrich Little Theatre and the Fond du Lac High School Performing Arts Center.

Musical theatre was once a separate group within the organization and eventually faded out in the early to mid-1960s. Since then, musicals have returned and are now an important part of the annual season.

The rich history of Fond du Lac Community Theatre is truly found in its people. Every person who has graced the stage, hammered a nail, sewn a costume, promoted a show, played in the orchestra, or bought a ticket has helped shape this organization. We are forever grateful.
